About Our Agency

Charles G. Katsiaficas, Broker
This is the man who started it all.... After moving to Maine from New Hampshire in the early 1950's, Charlie had a successful career in teaching and coaching at the High School level. He moved onto insurance and worked as District Manager for the Equitable before starting the Katsiaficas Insurance Agency in 1960, which soon evolved to include the Real Estate Division and Travel Agency.

Charlie loved this area, taking long rides and enjoying the beauty of Maine. He never hesitated to tell anyone how lucky we are to live here! Over the years he established many successful businesses, bought and sold properties, developed subdivisions and enjoyed every minute of it. He loved to ride by a place and say, "I sold that place once!" He loved the fact that he helped many people buy and sell homes throughout the area. He constructed the Eagles lodge Motel in the late 1980's and Ellsworth Self Storage shortly thereafter. Until his retirement in 2006 he enjoyed spending time at the motel meeting people and swapping stories.

Charlie passed away in January of 2009. He is missed but his legacy lives on in us all as the businesses he founded continue to serve the community he loved.
