This is the guy who started it all !!! After a successful career in teaching and coaching, Charlie started the Katsiaficas Insurance Agency in 1960 which soon evolved to include Real Estate.

He has bought and sold many properties, has established many successful businesses over the years and can point to many, many properties in the area and claim “I sold that place once!”. He constructed the Eagles Lodge Motel in 1990 and Ellsworth Self Storage shortly thereafter, which is where he spends most of his time. He holds several insurance designations and continues to be involved in real estate.

He and his wife Lily enjoy the warmer months in Maine at their home on Western Bay in Trenton and the colder months in Key Largo, Florida. They have 5 grown children and 9 grandchildren.

Steve has been the driving force behind subdivisions in Ellsworth, Hancock, Lamoine, Surry, Gouldsboro and Franklin, for himself and clients to maximize the return on their land. He is past president of the Hancock/Washington County Board of Realtors, past president of the Ellsworth Rotary Club and served on the board of the local YMCA for 10 years. He has spent the past 4 years on the Ellsworth Planning Board which helps him stay abreast of all growth presently taking place in Ellsworth.

Kiki Katsiaficas Sawyer, Broker/Owner
Kiki is a business graduate of Husson College and continued her education at Trinity College in Vermont where she lived for 10 years working in the Marketing field.. After returning to Maine, she earned her real estate license and has been at it for 16 years.

She has extensive experience in representing both buyers and sellers as well as representing building contractors, negotiation of land/home packages and land development. She has also made several land/home investments and continues to have interest in that aspect of real estate. She has many repeat customers which speaks for the excellent service she provides.

Kiki is a past officer of the Hancock Washington County Board of Realtors. She supports many local civic organizations and is an elected member of the Ellsworth School Committee. She has 3 children, Nicholas, Anna and Thomas, lives in Ellsworth and has a summer home on Beech Hill Pond.

Raymond Katsiaficas, Associate Broker
Raymond joined the agency in 1995 after a 12 year career teaching/coaching in Europe and area high schools. He is a graduate of Springfield College with a degree in Physical Education. Raymond owns several Coffee News franchises and specializes in listing while he’s on the “sales” road. Raymond has invested in several land/home packages and advised clients on how to do the same. He currently is constructing a home on property he owns on Green Lake. He is involved in several community youth programs and enjoys working with people he meets and finding them the perfect property. If he can’t find it, he’ll build it!!!!

Raymond lives in Ellsworth with his wife Jyl and children Courtney and Demetrios.

Walter Grant, Associate Broker
Walter has been with our agency since September 1987. He had retired after working as a soil scientist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for over 30 years. Working in real estate was a totally different career for him and the change appealed to him. His longevity speaks for his success. Walter especially enjoys working with Buyers and finding the “right” property for his clients and walking large parcels of land with an eye on development potential. He is the agency expert in deciphering deeds and can figure out property lines based on birch trees, old fences and the way the sun sets!

Walter is very involved in the local Kiwanis Club and participates in annual blood drives. He enjoys wintering in Florida with his wife Beverly and meeting people he can convince to spend summers in Downeast Maine.

Nora Garland, Associate Broker
Nora joined our team in January of 1998. She had purchased and sold several investment properties and was interested in a career in real estate. It took some convincing, but she got licensed and is now a much sought after Broker in the area. She especially enjoys residential properties. Nora is diligent and will not give up until she finds what people are looking for!! She enjoys the challenge of investing and reselling properties, with her most recent venture being a multi-unit property in Ellsworth.

Nora recently donated her time to help implement the 911 emergency response system in North Ellsworth based on her concern for the residents in that area. She and her husband Bob live in Ellsworth, have recently purchased a home in Florida with an eye on future retirement, and have several grown children.
